Bay View High School Fund

Craig Montessori School Fund

(Established in October 2003) 

Funds are designated in this account to support and enrich the vision and mission of Craig Montessori School to foster an environment that supports authentic high quality Montessori education in all aspects of school life. Funds will be used to: Support opportunities for children to go into the community to research and experience cultural, hands-on life experiences; Promote teacher training designed to deepen knowledge of Montessori education and/or support goals of the school community; Develop a school community of children, parents, teachers and support personnel that respects and sustains one another in establishing an optimal learning environment; Maintaining an optimal classroom environment with materials that meet the needs of the children; and Building physical facilities to support the Montessori philosophy. 

Fairview School Fund

(Established in November 2006) 

Funds are designated to enrich the education of children attending Fairview School by supporting projects and programs that promote the Fairview School mission. Goals include: Enhancing educational opportunities for students; Promoting Fairview School to the community and encouraging private sector involvement; and Providing support for other projects dedicated to enriching the education of children attending Fairview School. 

Fernwood Montessori School Fund

Golda Meir School Fund 

(Established in May 2004) 

Funds are designated to enrich the education of children attending Golda Meir School by supporting projects and programs that advance the mission and objectives of the school. Goals include: Developing an awareness of each student's abilities and talents; Fostering respect for the abilities and talents of others; Providing experiences in critical/creative thinking and problem solving skills; Nurturing the leadership potential in each student; Using cultural facilities to develop and expand students' artistic skills and talents; and Stimulating parent involvement in school activities, events, and learning situations. 

Hartford University School Fund

(Established in October 2003) 

Funds are designated to enrich the education of children attending Hartford University School for Urban Explorations by supporting projects and programs that advance the mission and objectives of the school. Funds will support: Developing in children extraordinary academic skills; Providing all children with enrichment opportunities in such areas as the fine arts, physical education, university connections, urban explorations, social justice, travel opportunities, science and other social and academic areas; and Developing “thick leadership,” that is, leadership by students, staff, and families. 

Honey Creek Elementary School Fund

(Established in November 2003) 

Funds are designated to enrich the education of children attending Honey Creek Elementary School by supporting projects and programs that advance the mission and objectives of the school. Funds will support: Promoting advanced academic skills including reasoning, critical thinking, and problem solving; Providing staff development so that teachers can successfully integrate curriculum to enhance students' learning experiences; Enriching opportunities in music; Using the Environmental Center as a hands-on laboratory for incorporating science concepts relating to plants, seasons, climate, and weather; Artist--in-residence; Providing age-appropriate playground equipment and technology; Offering after-school sports opportunities; and offering health/nursing services. 

Howard Avenue Montessori Fund

Lincoln Center of the Arts Fund

(Established in November 2006) 

Funds are designated to enrich the education of children attending Lincoln Center of the Arts and Milwaukee Public Schools by supporting projects and programs that promote the integration of the many and varied aspects of the arts with academic endeavors that are aligned with district and state curricular goals. Goals include: Enhancing arts-based learning opportunities for students; Promoting Lincoln Center of the Arts within the community and encouraging private sector involvement; Emphasizing the historical significance of the Lincoln Center of the Arts property; Providing support for projects dedicated to enriching the education of children attending Lincoln Center of the Arts. 

Lloyd Barbee Montessori School Fund

 

MacDowell Montessori School Fund

(Established in August 2005) 

Funds are designated to enrich the education of students attending MacDowell Montessori School by supporting projects and programs that advance the mission of the school. The fund's objectives are to: Bring community programs into MacDowell; Support Artists-in Residence projects; Promote teacher training; and Involve parents. 

Maryland Avenue Montessori School Fund

(Established in January 2006) 

The Maryland Avenue Montessori School Fund is dedicated to enriching the education of children attending Maryland Avenue Montessori School by supporting projects and programs that enhance the educational community and support the mission of Maryland Avenue Montessori School. Goals include: Enhancing Montessori based learning opportunities for students; Promoting teacher training in the Montessori method; Promoting Maryland Avenue Montessori School in the community and encouraging private sector involvement; Providing support for other projects dedicated to the enrichment of the educational experience of children attending Maryland Avenue Montessori School.

Funds are designated in this account to support the MPS art and music programs to provide quality arts programming for students and encourage teachers to integrate the arts into their academic curriculum. 

MPS Library Fund

(Established in 2002) 

Funds are designated in this account to provide grant awards to MPS schools for books for use by children and families, including the Reading Is Fundamental Program and after-school programs.
